Engineered with a 3/8" SAE flare connection and a substantial 28 cubic inch desiccant volume, this unit specializes in high-capacity moisture and acid removal. Designed specifically for the suction side to prevent debris from reaching the compressor, it utilizes a 40-micron filtration media to trap solid contaminants. Operating with a 500 PSI maximum working pressure, it provides a low pressure drop, ensuring optimal refrigerant flow and system efficiency. This HVAC suction filter is essential for clean-up after a burnout or during routine maintenance to mitigate the risk of premature compressor failure caused by sludge or acid. The solid core construction provides reliable refrigerant moisture removal, making it a standard choice for contractors prioritizing system reliability in high-pressure applications.

Key Benefits

Enhanced Compressor Protection: High-density 40-micron filtration prevents solid particles from entering the compressor.

Large Desiccant Capacity: The 28 cubic inch core provides superior acid and moisture neutralization.

Low Pressure Drop: Engineered to minimize suction line restriction, maintaining system performance levels.

Versatile Compatibility: Standard 3/8" SAE flare fittings ensure easy installation on a variety of residential and commercial systems.

Robust Build: Rated for 500 PSI, making it suitable for modern high-pressure refrigerants.

Common Questions

Is the ASD-28F3 suitable for a system cleanup after a burnout?
Yes, the ASD series is specifically designed for suction line applications to capture acid and debris following a compressor failure, preventing residual contaminants from damaging the new replacement.

How does this model handle pressure drop?
The ASD-28F3 is designed with a high-flow core to maintain a minimal pressure drop, which is critical for suction line components to avoid reducing compressor efficiency.

Can I use this on the liquid line?
No, this is a suction-specific drier.
