Featuring a 41 cubic inch desiccant volume, this unit utilizes a premium compacted bead blend consisting of 75% molecular sieve and 25% activated alumina. This specific ratio ensures superior drying capability while maintaining high acid neutralization levels, protecting the compressor and expansion valves from premature failure caused by contaminants. The EK415 is rated for a 680 PSI max pressure, making it fully compatible with high-pressure refrigerants like R-410A, as well as R-22, R-134a, R-404A, and R-507.

Built for durability, the Copeland Comfort Control (Alco) EK415 features a shock-resistant steel shell and corrosion-resistant epoxy powder paint finish. The 5/8" flare (SAE) connections are solid copper, facilitating reliable, leak-free integration into the liquid line. Internal filtration is handled by a 20 micron outlet pad, which captures solid particulates before they can reach the metering device, ensuring nonturbulent flow and consistent system performance. This uni-directional drier is a standard choice for contractors looking for a high-volume, reliable solution in demanding HVACR applications.

Key Benefits

Premium Filtration: Incorporates a 20-micron outlet pad to prevent solid contaminants from clogging expansion valves.

High Moisture Capacity: Optimized compacted bead desiccant provides maximum water and acid removal for system longevity.

R-410A Ready: Engineered to withstand a maximum working pressure of 680 psig, suitable for modern high-pressure systems.

Rugged Construction: Features a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish and shock-resistant steel shell for harsh environment durability.

Universal Compatibility: Approved for use with POE oils and a wide range of CFC, HCFC, and HFC refrigerants.

Common Questions

Is the EK415 compatible with R-410A systems?
Yes, the EK series is UL-listed for a maximum working pressure of 680 psig, which specifically covers the requirements of R-410A and other high-pressure refrigerants.

What is the connection type for this model?
The Alco 048222 (EK415) features 5/8" Male Flare (SAE) connections.
