The ICM Controls ICM271 Control Board is a high-performance solid-state fan blower control designed as a direct "form, fit, and functional" replacement for a wide range of Carrier, BDP, and Robertshaw gas furnace centers. Engineered for rapid field installation, it eliminates the need for complex rewiring or modifications to the appliance?s sheet metal. This board is a critical component for managing circulating fans in heat pump, A/C, and forced air systems, featuring a high-power relay output and pin-selectable delays to optimize airflow and equipment longevity.

As a dual function fan delay timer, the ICM271 includes a 75-second heat ON delay and a 105-second heat OFF delay, ensuring the heat exchanger reaches temperature before the blower engages and effectively purging residual heat from the ducts. For air conditioning repair applications, it provides a 90-second cool OFF delay to maximize sensible cooling and improve overall system SEER. The board is fuse-protected with a 3-amp automotive-type fuse, shielding the thermostat and transformer circuit from shorts?a significant upgrade over many older OEM models.

  • Direct OEM Replacement: Seamlessly drops into Carrier furnace replacement applications including part numbers HH84AA020, HH84AA011, and CES0110017.
  • Enhanced Protections: Features an onboard 3-amp fuse and solid-state fan blower control logic to prevent common failures associated with mechanical timers.
  • Application Versatility: Supports high-speed cooling and low-speed heating configurations with an easy-to-remove vent damper jumper plug.
  • Field Tunable: Pin-selectable delay options allow for precise calibration based on specific HVAC system installation requirements.
Common Questions

Is the ICM271 compatible with systems using a vent damper?
Yes. The board includes a factory-installed vent damper jumper plug. For systems equipped with a vent damper, simply remove the jumper and connect the original wiring harness directly to the board.

What happens if the 3-amp fuse blows on this board?
The ICM271 is designed with a failsafe mode; if the fuse blows, the low-speed blower will energize and remain on until the fuse is replaced, preventing stagnation and highlighting the circuit issue.

Can I use this board for a paired furnace application?
No. The ICM271 is specifically not intended for use in paired furnace applications. Always verify your specific wiring diagram and system configuration before installation.
