As a veteran technician, you know that a failing pressure switch quickly shuts down a job site. The Reznor 197078 Air Flow Switch is the primary safety mechanism for ensuring proper draft and venting before the burner cycle begins. This genuine OEM part is engineered with a specific 0.80 IN WC set point, calibrated to the rigorous tolerances required for Reznor UDX, UDZ, and older unit heaters. Operating as an SPST contact type (Single Pole Single Throw), it monitors the differential pressure to confirm the inducer motor is moving sufficient combustion air, preventing hazardous operation or heat exchanger overheating.

The 197078 air flow switch serves as the direct replacement for 150837, which has been discontinued by the manufacturer. Swapping in this HVAC pressure switch ensures back-compatibility with existing mounting brackets and wiring harnesses. With a durable metal and plastic housing designed for high-temperature commercial environments, it provides the reliability needed for Reznor gas heater parts maintenance. For contractors servicing UDZ125 units or similar industrial equipment up to 6,000 ft elevation, this specific 0.80 inch water column flow switch is the correct specification to clear the fault code and restore system reliability.

Key Benefits:
  • Direct OEM Replacement: Engineered specifically to replace the legacy Reznor 150837 without field modifications.
  • Precise Calibration: Factory-set at 0.80" WC to ensure the system only fires when optimal airflow is confirmed.
  • Critical Safety Logic: The normally open SPST switch prevents burner ignition in the event of inducer failure or vent blockage.
  • Rugged Build: Constructed to withstand the cycling and thermal stress of commercial unit heater applications.
Common Questions:

Is the Reznor 197078 compatible with my heater if it has the 150837 part?
Yes, the 197078 replacement pressure switch is the official manufacturer-designated successor for the discontinued 150837.

What does the grey label on this flow switch signify?
The grey label is a visual indicator for technicians that this unit is calibrated to a 0.80" WC (Water Column) pressure rating.

Can this be mounted in any orientation?
For accurate sensing, most Reznor flow switches should be mounted vertically to ensure the diaphragm operates correctly according to the original equipment design.

Ask a Question
  • This air flow switch is it metal on the other side too, or it is plastic? I am afraid not to melt because the garage heater Reznor FE125 create a heat. I have the part and it is FS689-1623 016017 / 5196 /B 125131 mount diaphragm vertical and it is all metal

Hi, it didn't show that pressure switch being for that unit. It shows a 196653 for units built before 1/94 and a 195316 for units built after 1/94 for 0-4000ft altitudes. Please check if this is what you are looking for:
