Williams P200200 Fan Switch
This Williams P200200 Fan Switch is a critical OEM replacement fan control designed for precise thermal management in Williams Forsaire and Magnum series furnaces. Engineered with a setpoint of 120°F ON and a 15°F differential, this SPST (Single Pole Single Throw) switch operates on a normally open circuit. It triggers fan activation once the plenum reaches the 120°F threshold to ensure efficient heat exchange and prevent short-cycling. As temperatures dissipate below the 105°F cutout, the switch resets, protecting the blower motor and optimizing energy consumption. Built for high-heat environments, the P200200 Williams Fan Switch is compatible with Counterflow Top Vent (3508, 5008, 5508) and Direct Vent (4007, 5507, 6007) models, as well as 6008A units. Replacing a fouled furnace fan temperature sensor restores consistent airflow and maintains the integrity of the heat exchanger.
Key Benefits for Contractors:- Direct OEM Compatibility: Ensures seamless fitment for Williams Comfort Products heating units without field modifications.
- Precise Thermal Sensing: 120°F activation with a fixed 15°F differential maintains tight control over furnace fan operation.
- System Durability: Prevents heat exchanger overheating by ensuring the blower engages and disengages at exact manufacturer-specified temperatures.
- Versatile Application: Standardized part for several Forsaire and Magnum furnace configurations, reducing truck stock requirements.
Is the Williams P200200 a normally open or normally closed switch?
This is a normally open fan switch. It stays open until the plenum temperature reaches 120°F, at which point the contacts close to energize the blower motor. It is the opposite of a high-limit safety switch.
When should I replace the P200200 fan control switch?
Replacement is necessary if the furnace fan fails to start after the burner has ignited and reached temperature, or if the blower continues to run indefinitely after the system has cooled below 105°F.
What models is this fan switch compatible with?
This switch is the standard OEM replacement for Williams Forsaire Counterflow models (3508, 5007, 6007 series) and the Magnum 6008A series wall furnaces.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Ask a Question-
Is this switch supposed to be open or closed when you check it with a multimeter?
Since this is a fan switch it is going to be normally open. When the temperature in the unit gets to 120 degrees that switch will close and generally turn on the fan or blower to move the hot air away from the heat exchanger. The switch will stay closed until it senses the air temperature in the unit going below 105 degrees which is the 15 degree differential of the switch.
That is how most fan switches work which is the opposite of a limit switch. The limit is normally closed and when it hits the temp rating it opens until it cools down to a certain temperature. The White Rodgers 3F01 and 3L01 series are some wholesale versions of fan and limit switches.
if we had a multimeter we wouldn't be able to test that without setting up a complete science experiment which is not something we are set up to do here.
