The Armstrong Fluid Technology 110223-305 Pump, also known as the Model ASTRO 230CI, is a high-performance, three-speed cast iron circulator designed for closed-loop hydronic and solar heating systems. This wet rotor circulator efficiently moves water or glycol solutions through radiators, baseboards, and radiant floor heating setups. As a maintenance free circulator, it features a self-lubricating ceramic shaft and bearings, eliminating the need for mechanical seals or manual oiling. Operating at 115V single-phase power, it draws a maximum of 0.81 Full Load Amps at 97 Watts, offering a versatile range of flow rates up to 18 GPM and a maximum head of 18 feet. The 110223-305 serves as the direct replacement for 110123-005 and is compatible with 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", or 1 1/2" flanges. Its internal e-coating provides superior corrosion resistance, ensuring long-term reliability in residential and light commercial HVAC systems.

Key Benefits

  • Three-Speed Versatility: Adjustable motor speeds allow you to match the pump performance to the specific requirements of single or multi-zone systems.
  • Quiet, Maintenance-Free Operation: The wet rotor design ensures near-silent performance with no mechanical seals to leak or couplers to align.
  • Corrosion Protection: Internal e-coating on the cast iron volute prevents rust buildup and debris from entering the heating loop.
  • Universal Compatibility: Standard flange-to-flange dimensions (6-3/8") make it an easy swap for Taco 007, Grundfos UPS15-58, and B&G NRF-22 models.
  • Integrated Check Valve: Includes a removable high-flow check valve to prevent backflow and simplify installation.

Common Questions

  • Can this pump be used for potable water? No, this cast iron model is specifically for closed-loop heating systems; for domestic hot water, a bronze or stainless steel model is required.
  • Does it come with flanges? No, flanges and mounting hardware are sold separately to accommodate different pipe sizes (3/4" to 1-1/2").
  • Is the check valve required? The check valve is pre-installed for convenience but can be easily removed if your specific system layout does not require it.
