It gives you a permanent discharge pressure test port that seals every time you take a gauge hose off.

A discharge Schrader port is where you hook up gauges to read head pressure, discharge pressure for superheat and compression ratio checks, and to catch a pump-down or high pressure cutout problem in the act.
