Spirax-Sarco 64162 Bucket Trap
The Spirax-Sarco 64162 Bucket Trap (Model B1H-125) is a rugged, 3/4-inch mechanical inverted bucket steam trap engineered for reliable condensate drainage in industrial and commercial steam systems. Utilizing a high-leverage mechanism with a density-responsive bucket, the 64162 ensures a cyclic discharge of condensate at temperatures approaching steam saturation. The cast iron body (ASTM A126 Class B) is built to thrive in harsh environments, offering excellent resistance to hydronic shock and corrosive process conditions. Designed for inline horizontal piping, this B Series trap features a 5-inch face-to-face length and is optimized for equipment reaching a maximum operating pressure of 125 psig. By integrating a stainless steel valve head and seat, the Spirax-Sarco B1H-125 maintains a tight seal over long service intervals, effectively purging air and non-condensable gases to prevent air binding in main drip stations, laundry pressers, and heat exchangers.
Key Benefits- Efficient Air Removal: Features a built-in bucket vent that prevents air binding, allowing for rapid equipment heat-up and improved heat transfer efficiency.
- Shock Resistance: The mechanical inverted bucket design is inherently resistant to water hammer, making it ideal for systems prone to pressure surges.
- High Temperature Rating: Capable of managing maximum allowable temperatures up to 450°F, ensuring performance in demanding high-heat applications.
- Simplified Maintenance: The horizontal configuration and top-entry cover allow for internal mechanism inspection and cleaning without breaking pipeline connections.
- Internal Durability: Equipped with hardened stainless steel internals to resist wiredrawing and erosion from high-velocity condensate flow.
