Lennox 67M68 Inducer Assembly Kit
The Lennox 67M68 Inducer Assembly Kit is a high-performance 115V draft inducer designed specifically for select mid-to-high efficiency Lennox furnace models. As a direct OEM replacement motor, this kit resolves common pressure switch tripping issues and heavy vibration caused by degraded bearings or balanced-wheel housing corrosion. Specifically identified as a 1/30 HP, 3200 RPM components, the 67M68 is identical to 67M6801 and serves as a reliable drop-in for legacy part numbers including 26G42, 51G78, LB-55074AB, and LB-107228T. Utilizing the Lennox furnace inducer replacement ensures your system maintains the precise static pressure required for safe combustion gas venting and optimal HVAC system performance. This complete assembly features a shaded pole motor with a 1.5 Amp draw and 60 Hz operation. Its clockwise rotation (CWLE) and durable metal housing provide the necessary airflow for high-static applications, making it an essential stocked item for the professional HVAC technician.
Key Benefits- Precise Compatibility: Direct OEM match for 67M68 and 67M6801, ensuring seamless integration with original furnace control boards and pressure switches.
- Efficient Exhaust Management: Specifically engineered to manage flue gas exhaust, preventing carbon monoxide buildup and pressure sensor errors.
- Quiet Operation: Precision-balanced blower wheels minimize mechanical vibration, reducing the noise typically associated with aging draft inducer blower units.
- Simplified Installation: Comes as a comprehensive kit to facilitate a faster furnace draft motor repair, minimizing downtime on the job site.
What are the signs that my current inducer assembly is failing?
Contractors often identify failure through high-pitched screeching or grinding sounds, indicating bearing wear. Additionally, if the furnace fails to ignite and shows a pressure switch stuck open code, the inducer may not be reaching the required RPM or creating sufficient vacuum.
Does this kit include the necessary gaskets for a vacuum-tight seal?
Yes, maintaining a proper seal between the inducer and the collector box is critical to prevent moisture leaks and air bypass. This assembly is typically used with standard Lennox gaskets (such as 60J55 or 81W46) to ensure a complete repair.
Can I replace just the motor or do I need the full assembly?
While individual motors are sometimes available, field experience suggests replacing the entire Lennox output inducer kit. Often, the internal plastic or metal housing has suffered heat warping or debris buildup, which will quickly damage a new standalone motor.
