Trane SWT4232 Pressure Switch
The Trane SWT4232 Pressure Switch is an essential OEM SPNO Dual Pressure Switch designed for high-performance monitoring in residential and commercial HVAC systems. As a veteran-grade Trane replacement part, it is the direct successor to legacy models including C341546P01, PPS10151-2883, and SWT02357. This dual-stage assembly features precise calibration with a 0.50" WC high-side and 0.17" WC low-side setpoint, ensuring the inducer motor maintains proper static pressure before the ignition sequence initiates. For technicians replacing older single-pressure units like the C340773P01, note that the wiring configuration has been updated; field wiring must be terminated at the 0.50" WC terminal side to match original single-switch logic. Engineered for 120/240VAC control circuits with a 15A rating, this adjustable pressure switch prevents unsafe operation by detecting flue blockages or inducer failure, maintaining tight differential pressure settings for system longevity.
Key Benefits
- OEM Compatibility: Authentic Trane SWT4232 ensures a perfect physical and electrical fit for American Standard and Trane furnaces.
- System Protection: Monitors critical water column (WC) thresholds to prevent combustion issues caused by restricted venting or failing inducer motors.
- Dual-Function Monitoring: Provides comprehensive sensing for both high and low-pressure conditions in a single, durable housing.
- Reliable Switching: Single-Pole Normally Open (SPNO) logic ensures the safety circuit only closes when airflow is fully verified.
Common Questions
How do I wire the SWT4232 when replacing a single pressure switch?
When replacing the C340773P01 or similar single-switch units, you must wire specifically to the 0.50" WC terminal side to maintain the original safety sequence.
What are the specific trip points for this model?
The Trane SWT4232 (and cross-referenced SWT04232) typically operates with a factory-set High of 0.50" WC PF and a Low of 0.17" WC PF.
Can this switch resolve a furnace "pressure switch open" error code?
Yes, if the internal diaphragm has failed or the contacts are pitted, replacing the HVAC pressure switch will resolve the error, provided the flue and inducer are clear.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Ask a Question-
What is the wiring difference ? Looks like a new wire connection was added.
Please reply us the model and serial numbers to check if this is the correct part for your model.
-
Do this pressure switch take the place of C340773p01 pressure switch
Yes it does however the wiring is different on this new replacement. Please note the following notes from the factory:
ORIGINAL WAS A SINGLE PRESSURE SWITCH ONLY WIRE TO THE .50"wc TERMINAL SIDE. -
Will this replace swt02980
No, it seems that this is not the replacement item. Unfortunately, SWT2980 is currently out of stock, and the backorder lead time is estimated to be at least 3 months or longer.
